Spring break

Guys, I’m back. It’s been a while. Like a long time. So much has happened! I don’t even know where to start. So I will just pack it all in a tiny little information packet for you.

In the last year I have dealt with depression and anxiety (I’m fine now), we have left the military (!!!), had a five months stay in New York City with family (thank you guys for putting up with us!) and found a place to live Upstate New York. Then we finally got our furniture delivered and surprise! The box with ALL the screws is missing. Gone. Poof. Anybody that has ever dealt with military moving knows that this was no quick fix. So after having all our stuff in storage for six months, we couldn’t even put it together. It took another three months for that. Because insurance and stuff. Everything was finally figured out about three weeks ago and we finally have a home.

Now we can breathe. Just in time for spring break. After all the dudes finally got over the flu, we were able to spend some time outside. I absolutely love it here. It’s quiet and country, but not too far from the city. It’s safe to say, civilian life is finally good πŸ™‚

These were taken at Bear Mountain Park Zoo. I just love owls. And foxes. And coyotes. Weird, I know.

tell me a story | april 2014

We had a few warm days this month, lots of rain, but no snow. Don’t get me wrong, I love snow, but I also love seeing nature wake up and kids outside. Definitely the kids outside. It’s so nice to be able to open the back door and they can play outside the whole afternoon.

Here’s one of those afternoons πŸ™‚

And please don’t forget to check out what the wonderful Julie was up to this month πŸ™‚

Growing up in a country where it does get pretty cold in the winter, we never had snow days. We always had to make our way to school, just leave the house a little early, wait a little longer at the train station, later, learn how to drive on ice and snow. It didn’t even occur to me that schools could be canceled due to snow. But here we were, 7am phone calls and emails from the county. A snow day. Needless to say the boys loved it. So we bundled up, packed up the dog lady and ventured outside for some snow fun. The hubs was home too since he was still on leave, so i made him pick up the camera for a whole 5 minutes. I know. I’m so demanding πŸ˜‰

waiting

I had the pleasure of photographing the most beautiful and glowing pregnant girl I’ve ever seen. I wish I looked that good when I was expecting. On top of it, she is the sweetest thing ever. Caring and calm, always smiling. You just can’t not love her. And now she’s expecting her first baby, a little girl. I know she will be an amazing mother and I can’t express how excited I am for her. The only thing we need to work on are these cravings she has. Clementines with chocolate milk…

Jen, I wish you all the best and all the love in the world for you and your little family. You guys will be just fine and Ellie is lucky to be able to call you her mother β™₯
