Well, almost. It’s still pretty warm here and the leaves have just started to turn colors. But that doesn’t mean I can’t take the dudes out for some pre-fall photos, right? It was time for some nice new photos that can go up on the wall 🙂 And, as you can probably tell, they were more concerned with giggling and having fun with each other 🙂
Since we moved we’re really close to my in-laws again. So we get to spend time with lots and lots of family. Last weekend we drove up to the city again and I figured, why not take the time and photograph my nieces in their typical environment. The hustle and bustle of NYC. Then their cousins joined in. Then my husbands youngest sister and his cousin. So within 10 minutes I went from 2 girls to 6 and the whole series was done in 20 minutes. I have to say, I love every single one of them 🙂 Their so full of spunk and joy, it’s just wonderful to watch them grow into these amazing young women.

Sometimes creativity gets away from me and it’s hard to focus. It’s absolutely impossible for me to photograph my life when that happens. It seems too wild, too hectic. So I have to refocus. Photograph something that doesn’t move (at least not a lot) and take my time, take the time to focus manually, get everything the way I want it and press the shutter. It kind of makes me feel like a camera sniper. Get in position, stabilize your gear, focus, lock it in, slowly breathe out and CLICK! Got it! Very therapeutic 🙂
