  1. Your pictures are beautiful! I enjoy taking photos but I don’t have a nice camera (right now I just have a cheap point-and-shoot)…I’m wondering what kind of camera you use?

  2. HOLY CRAP PEOPLE!!!
Thank you SO much for all your lovely comments! I don’t even know what to say! I’m freaking out here!!!! I’m absolutely blown away šŸ™‚

For everybody that’s asking, these were all taken with a Nikon D700 and a 85mm 1.4G lens

  3. Marvellous, silent and delicate… I’d liker to put some poems of mine on this lovely pictures that you offer so kindly!

    Thanks.

  4. Great shots. I especially enjoyed the 2 boys up in the tree. The lower contrast gave a soft, memory-like effect to the scene.

  5. the macro photos are the ones i have been trying to take. i will try again as i am inspired!

  6. Unreal beautiful. Your boys are sweet, but what really got me was the photo of the feather in the twig. Breathtaking!

  7. Those li’l children are so adorable! Your photos are so light to my eyes it soothes my weary head. šŸ™‚ Thanks for sharing! ^^

  8. Fourth image down… plant growing out of gravel – shallow depth of field. Was that the 85mm lens alone wide open, or did you create that narrow band of ‘in focus’ with Photoshop (or equivalent)?

      • Wow… I can’t get over how sharply defined the limits are. I would have expected a softer transition from sharp to out of focus. I’ve always gone with f2.8 glass, mostly because my lenses weren’t available in a faster form (or available at a price lower than my first-born). The 85mm is worth watching for… just that much narrower than my 105mm.

Nice work and thanks for the response!

  9. Your photos are beautiful! The DoF in the one with the flower sprouting out of the sidewalk is amazing! May I ask what lens you used? And I apologize if I am just asking something that has already been asked/answered. I didn’t wade through all the comments before commenting myself. Your boys are handsome little devils šŸ™‚

  10. I was glued for a while marvelling the “beauty” in each pictures. Best of all, it shows the pure happiness in those children’s eyes and smiles. What a great way to start the year…..

  11. loved the photos but would prefer them without you name in such a prominent position as I find it a bit distracting.

  12. Your work is beautiful. The feather in the twig is especially catching. Thank you for sharing.

  13. wow your photos are captivating! i’m trying to get more into photography. i hope i can capture images as stunning as these one day.

  14. That’s beautiful. Simply but extraordinary. Good job! Gbu for your good deed šŸ™‚

  15. Amazing photos! The pictures are beautiful and keep one’s eyes to look again.

Beauty is everywhere, oftentimes in what we don’t see with our eyes.

    Have a great day!
    Tammy

  16. Just imagine if you would not have slowed down with the dudes to see and share – I would not be reminded to do the same today. Thanks your photos are fantastic.

  17. Beautiful pictures! If you made your own calendar, I would totally buy it. Every year I get the Barnes & Noble simplicity calendar with the quotes. They’re beautiful.

  18. Thanks for sharing your lovely photos. It’s nice there are others out there who appreciate the little things and who also inspire others to do the same:)

I especially like the sense of stillness and simplicity in your pictures.

  19. I read your About Me and I must say you really love those two kids that they were included on this post — on your definition, through photographs, of BEAUTY. Of course! I also have a son who, no matter how hard headed, still is a BEAUTY to me. Love all the photographs, BTW. Congratulations!

  20. Oh my. You definitely have an eye for this! (: Thank you for posting these — they’re wonderful!
